Here's your Monday morning update from the campaign trail:
- Battle Creek Enquirer: B.C. embraces Obama. "To me, this is all about a president who I can work with in Congress to fight for Michigan's economy, to fight for Michigan jobs. I can't wait to get started," [Schauer] said. "I will be part of a delegation in Congress and I will work with Democrats and Republicans that want to fight for Michigan's economy."
- Battle Creek Enquirer: Crowd eager for change. Tim Walberg and a handful of McCain supporters stood outside the rally calling for four more years of George Bush's failed economic policies.
- ABC – Political Punch: Tony the Tiger is Apparently a Democrat. "At a rally in Battle Creek, Mich., just now, Mark Schauer -- the Senate minority leader running for Congress -- presented the Barack Obama-Joe Biden ticket with a special box of Frosted Flakes that he says Kellogg's, which is headquartered here, put together."
- The Hotline: Move Over Michael Phelps. The National Journal's blog highlights the box of Frosted Flakes Mark presented to Barack Obama and Joe Biden yesterday.
- New York Daily News Washington Bureau: Frosted Flakes? "State Sen. Mark Schauer unveiled it as a surprise to the crowd of 16,000 people here at the C.O. Brown Stadium baseball field so he could say, 'I’ll give you a hint: they’re grrreat!'"
- AP: Obama, Biden bring 'Change' tour to Michigan. "'Folks, if I walked out of this ballpark, down Michigan and back, I bet I wouldn't run into a single person who thought our economy was strong today, unless I bumped into John McCain,' Biden said, referring to Obama's Republican rival. Many in the crowd booed at the mention of McCain's name."

- Schauer Press Room: On Labor Day, Schauer Vows to Fight Outsourcing, Put Michigan Workers First. "South central Michigan has the best workers in the world, but we need a Congressman who will fight for fair trade policies so they can compete for jobs on a level playing field," said Schauer. "Over the past two years, Tim Walberg has made it perfectly clear that the little guy is always the last thing on his mind."
